First day of ROG MASTERS complete

Gambit and Grayhound topped their respective groups and will advance to semifinals while the remaining teams duke it out in the quarterfinals.

The first day of the ROG MASTERS in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia came to a close today with Gambit and Grayhound topping their groups.

In Group A the North Americans of Splyce gave the current Major champions of Gambit a run for their money with an impressive display. After both teams had secured wins over China's 5POWER and drawn against each other, it came down to a tiebreaker match to decide who would claim the semifinals spot. Gambit would win that map on the back of strong performances from Abay "HObbit" Khasenov and Rustem "mou" Telepov.

The members of Grayhound made quick work of Group B by shutting down both Vega Squadron and TyLoo in two close series. A final tiebreaker was to be had after the two teams fell to Grayhound. They met on Inferno where both teams showed solid defensive play on their CT-sides but equally lacking offensive tactics. In a rather close game, Vega Squadron ultimately took it 16-12 to secure their second place finish in the group.
