After a false start to the year, the team is struggling in the rankings

EG fall out of Top 30

In the most recent ranking update, the Blueprint org has suffered another low.

Evil Geniuses have not had the easiest time in the last few months, with the squad failing to win in ESL Pro League and IEM Katowice. Their only win so far in 2023 was against Heroic in a nailbiting BO3 at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups.

Since then, the team has failed to qualify out of the IEM Katowice Play-in, failed to win a game in their group at ESL Pro League, lost in the CCT North Europe Series 3, and did not qualify for the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR.

Suffice to say, this has not been an easy time for the players and for the organization.

As of yesterday, with the release of the weekly HLTV World Rankings, Evil Geniuses has suffered another low where they fell out of the top 30 for the first time since the addition Jerric "wiz" Jiang.

The only other time that Evil Geniuses has been outside of the Top 30 was with the creation of this new roster that included Sanzhar "neaLan" Iskhakov and Jadan "HexT" Postma. Prior to that, the roster suffered extreme turmoil and difficulties with the Cloud9 Revival that included Jake "Stewie2k" Yip, Tim "autimatic" Ta, and Will "RUSH" Wierzba.

With the roster and the organization seeming to struggle, the hope is that the team has time to refocus ahead of their next appearance at the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown Americas where they will battle against top teams from the region for one place at the BLAST Premier Spring Finals.
