Nouns conquer CCT North America Series 3

The team benefited from an FFW against ATK in the semifinal.

CCT North America Series 3 ended last night which saw take the crown, as the squad managed to beat paiN in the grand final, after not dropping a single map during playoffs.

Throughout the campaign, some teams had to leave the tournament, and others couldn't field a team for a specific game due to different reasons. The competition featured lesser-known teams, such as DNA, and Take Charge, the latter coming from ESEA Advanced. The playoffs saw the eight invited teams playing the top eight from the regular season.

Nouns were one of the invited teams to the playoffs and the road to the trophy would not be easy, at first glance. The first round put them against Snakes Den, which Nouns dispatched quickly dropping only 13 rounds across both maps.

The quarterfinal would see Nouns facing off against a tougher opponent, Vendetta. Vendetta is on the rise lately, the team added Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk and Silas "silas" Marrufo recently, and had had some good results in other competitions. Despite all this, Nouns were able to do the same to Vendetta as they did to Snakes Den, only losing 15 rounds during the series.

The semifinal would not even be played on the server. ATK, Nouns' opponents, would have to forfeit the game due to a schedule conflict. ATK had a game against MIBR for the IEM Brazil open qualifier at the same time as the semifinal.

To close out the campaign on CCT NA, Nouns had paiN to beat in the grand final. The Brazilians were also in good form, not dropping a single map throughout the playoffs, despite an overtime map against Strife, and some close calls against Limitless and Take Flyte. The final series was everything fans expected and more. Both teams won their map picks in close matches, with Nouns taking Overpass 19-17, and paiN coming back on Nuke with a 16-13 score. The deciding map would be Vertigo, and things couldn't have been closer. paiN finished the T-side ahead 8-7, but Nouns showed a bit more offensive prowess and came back to win the map 16-14.

David "cynic" Polster was Nouns' main man during the last series, getting 73 frags in total, averaging 81.6 damage per round, and ending the series with a 1.17 rating.

With this win, Nouns managed to get revenge on paiN who bested the NA-side on the previous iteration of CCT NA, also in the grand final.
