Olga understands her position as the X-factor on FURIA fe

Olga: "There's no time to cry now, we have to go home and review everything"

FURIA fe are back to Brazil to prep for ESL Impact League Season Three.

For our final interview of ESL Impact Katowice and of our Polish excursion as a whole, Liam "Slevo" Slevin sat down with FURIA fe's Olga "Olga" Rodrigues to discuss the team's second-place finish in Katowice, the team's rivalry with Nigma Galaxy, and her own competition with Ana "ANa" Dumbravă to be the best women's player in the world, among other topics.

What's the mood like in the team after the match against Nigma?

We're very proud because it's a new team with a new map pool. We just started practicing with theis new roster in January. Very proud also because we haven't won any maps against Nigma Galaxy since Dallas and now we can do a really good best of three.

Sure it's sad to not go to another final, but we knew if we started this tournament with our heads up like we were doing today, we could've beat NAVI Javelins. There's no time to cry now, we have to go home and review everything and prepare for Dallas.

What can you tell me about those roster changes in the team?

bokor is doing the same roles as mari used to do, but we changed our map pool to ban Vertigo and we are playing Inferno and Anubis. In the beginning of January we started to play all the maps to see what map we wanted to ban because we didn't know anything about Anubis. We had to try everything you know? That was the biggest change we had.

With your improvement against Nigma Galaxy, do you think it will be long now before you can get over the hump and take them down?

No, but as much as we can improve they can improve also because they don't stop improving. They have other outside of Impact like being a good team in Europe so it's hard and we also want to do a bootcamp like we did in Sweden. We believe we can have an Impact title someday, we are working for that.

Along with Nigma and FURIA's rivalry, there is also a rivalry between you and ANa for best player in the women's scene. Do you feel this pushes you to be better?

Yeah sure, last month they played a mixed cup and they played very well against the men, they could play very well.

For yourself personally, you struggled on day one especially against NAVI Javelins. As a star player, do you think your performance is the win factor on FURIA?

It depends on the map because I'm the play maker on every map but on Nuke I play on positions where I need a lot of information. I could get it in the weapon rounds but we lost a lot of weapon rounds so it's really playing CT when your economy is broken and Hanka she just owned me outside and got all of the information and infiltration. I couldn't turn it over on the T-side.

With Impact Katowice being done, what are your thoughts on your run overall?

I'm really really happy because it's a new team with a new map pool. We always always banned Inferno because three of my teammates never liked Inferno but we stopped removing it and started to play it and we started to have really good scrims on it and I always love Inferno. It's a map I can enter the game really fast and understand what the enemy is doing and counter them and just play my style.

What's FURIA fe's plans for the next few months now that Katowice is done?

Bootcamp we're not sure yet because we have to talk to the organization but they always support us so we believe it's going to happen but I don't know when. The next step is going to be to review the last Bo3 and practice more to improve our peak, our map pool, our CT-side, and our confidence because the first day we just joined the server with no confidence and just nervous. I was nervous today, it's normal but after the pistol round I started to get into the game and keep my head up. That's the thing we need to work on to make the first round this way.
