Mad Kings complete LATAM shuffle

The Peruvian team and Cartel terraza have finished shuffling their rosters for 2023.

Peruvian organization Mad Kings have completed their roster for 2023, seeing the ESEA Advanced team part ways with their two Colombian players while also bringing in a new Argentine coach. These changes also intersect with the other LATAM team in ESEA Advanced, Cartel terraza, as they parted ways with their IGL to bring in a former Mad Kings player.

The changes to Mad King's lineup began in mid-January when Juan "Slayerhz" Rodriguez left the squad after 18 months on the team. He was replaced by former Infinity star Joel "tor1towOw" Rios Manrique on January 17th after torito left Infinity after more than two years. Additionally, Mad Kings made a change to their coaching staff on January 17th, with former 9z and Boca Juniors coach, German "Hellpa" Morath, taking over head coach duties from Facundo "moka" Mendoza.

While neither team likely expected to make more changes to the lineup beyond this, on January 21st, the situation quickly changed as Sebastián "KOT3" Mejía left Mad Kings to replace Andres "spamzzy" Correa on Cartel terraza. spamzzy was the IGL and a key member of Cartel terraza, making this quite a surprise as he and Stephane "GuepaRd" Cazottes seemingly formed the nucleus of the team following the departure of Aldair "alone" Torres when Infinity exited CS:GO. Dust2.us asked spamzzy for context regarding the decision to leave Cartel terraza, however he did not respond to a request for comment.

With Mad Kings now needing a new fifth, the team looked towards fellow Peruvian Enmanuel "SJR" Villar to complete their lineup on January 23rd. SJR is a relatively inexperienced player, having previously played with IMBA Force and AblaZe in Peru.

The two teams are now:

Mad Kings:

  • Antonio "zockie" Montañez

  • Jesus "Knight" Rosales Ruiz

  • Steve "BabyRage" Vilca

  • Joel "tor1towOw" Rios Manrique

  • Enmanuel "SJR" Villar

  • German "Hellpa" Morath (Coach)

  • Facundo "moka" Mendoza (Asst. Coach)

Cartel terraza:

  • Mexico Francisco "k1Nky" Alvares

  • Renato "pacmanN" Morales

  • Mexico Bryan "Marro" Valles Valenzuela

  • Santiago "LegenD" Diaz

  • Sebastián "KOT3" Mejía

  • Stephane "GuepaRd" Cazottes (Coach)

Both Mad Kings and Cartel terraza are currently 3-1 in ESEA Advanced Season 44.

really surprised when infinity got to play in mexico, they didn't play better with reasonable ping, im not sure how much longer these teams can play without proper support and ping issues
