Liquid melt away
Liquid and BIG faced off in the first stage of the knockout rounds, but the game was such an underwhelming matchup that if you blinked, you would have completely missed it.
There is not much to say about Nuke, where BIG were able to start on their pick as the Ts and simply were unstoppable. BIG jumped out to a massive lead after winning the pistol and would close out the first half 13-2. BIG then, as the CTs, would win the pistol and close out the game 16-2.
Moving onto Liquid's pick of Anubis, the Americans were unable to convert favorable round after favorable round as they would lose the first half 11-4. Despite going onto the CT-side, it was not any easier for Liquid as they would inevitably lose the match 16-8.
Liquid now have to play in the BLAST Showdown later this spring for a shot at the Spring Finals in Washington, DC.
