Complexity beat team that beat Heroic

After a sluggish beginning to BLAST, the Dallas Cowboys-owned team has sprung to life.

A battle of NA's titans at BLAST, Complexity and Evil Geniuses were set to face off in a loser-go-home battle after the two sides found themselves to fight through a last-chance gauntlet after disappointing finishes in their respective groups.

In a somewhat comical turn of events, Complexity will now have played two NA squads out of their three matches so far in Copenhagen. Out of those three matches, however, this will be their first victory while Evil Geniuses sole win was against the current HLTV #1 team, Heroic.

The match began on an interesting twist, with Complexity choosing Anubis as the first battleground for the Americans to duke it out on. Their pick turned out to be the right one as the Ioannis "JT" Theodosiou led-crew immediately jumped out to a 6-2 lead en-route to an 11-4 T-side half.

Thanks to a Michael "Grim" Wince masterclass, Evil Geniuses were unable to break down their opponent as Complexity ran away on the CT-side with a 16-7 victory.

With the Geniuses facing elimination, they were headed to their pick of Inferno. Despite a pistol round win to open up the game, Complexity would storm out to a 6-2 lead. An ineffectual T-side meant that Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov and his squad were not looking like they'd make it to map three. However, some brilliant tactics from the multi-squad organization meant they climbed back to a 9-6 half.

As the sides switched, EG would once again win the pistol, but just like the first half, could not convert the subsequent rounds. EG and Complexity would trade three rounds each in intervals until the Geniuses came away with a 16-12 victory.

Forcing a contest on Overpass, Evil Geniuses would be first on the T-side but would struggle to find any sort of success, despite having the momentum. Complexity on their CT-side put up a staunch defense as they would dominate the map and secure an 11-4 half victory.

Complexity would continue their romp on Overpass as they win the pistol, but lose the subsequent rounds. After Evil Geniuses and Complexity traded enough rounds, Complexity would secure the map 16-8 and head to the next rounds.
