MIBR to promote Academy graduate

The Brazilian squad looks to their youth ranks to replace an outgoing JOTA.

One day after it was revealed by Dust2 Brasil that Marcos "tacitus" Castilho would be joining MIBR, they have also discovered that the organization will look to Felipe "insani" Yuji to replace the outgoing Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian.

MIBR is looking to it's academy once more after the relative success of Breno "brnz4n" Poletto who joined the senior squad approximately eight months ago. According to Dust2 Brasil, the possibility of insani joining the main team has been rumored since the aftermath of IEM Rio. While there were allegedly other players MIBR considered, insani was always the front-runner. MIBR reportedly pursued a number of players in this market, including Allan "history" Lawrenz, Lucas "nqz" Soares and Lucas "Lucaozy" Neve

As for MIBR, as Dust2.us confirmed yesterday, the squad will be partaking in the upcoming ESL Challenger League S44. The squad will have a busy month as they are slated to travel for Mexico in the next few days. From there they will play in the North American ESL Pro League Conference S17 which occurs between January 16th and January 20th. They will also presumably play matches in ECL which begins on January 17th. Following that, they will travel to Poland for IEM Katowice which starts on January 31st.

At only 19 years-old, insani is one of the founding members of the MIBR Academy, having been with the team for 18 months. The player was one of three revealed in the project Feitos no Brasil, which was the starting point for the team. He has been a solid player, posting a 1.07 HLTV Rating throughout 2022.

With the addition of insani and the expected departure of JOTA, MIBR's expected lineup is:

  • Brazil Raphael "exit" Lacerda

  • Brazil Matheus "tuurtle" Anhaia

  • Brazil Breno "brnz4n" Poletto

  • Brazil Henrique "HEN1" Teles

  • Brazil Felipe "insani" Yuji

  • Brazil Bruno "BIT" Lima (Coach)

  • Brazil Marcos "tacitus" Castilho (Assistant Coach)
