Liquid joins Ukraine war effort charity event

The North American organization appears to be sending at least one player to participate in the upcoming event.

Earlier this morning, Ukranian-based organization Natus Vincere announced BORN TO BE BRAVE, a CS:GO charity tournament in celebration of the organization's 13th birthday and a fundraiser for the Ukranian war effort. Funds are directed to UNITED24, a drive launched by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to help fund medical equipment purchases for Ukranian hospitals. More recently, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev donated an entire ambulance to UNITED24.

The event will take place just before Christmas, on December 22nd, with four mixed-squad including players from Natus Vincere, Astralis, Faze, Liquid, fnatic, ENCE, BIG, Vitality, and MOUZ. Already we know that Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut will be participating, however with Liquid it is unknown as of today.

In a unique twist, there will be four teams competing, each filled with players that conduct the same role. TEAM GO Kill will be made up of riflers, TEAM U SHALL NOT PASS will have support players, TEAM RUSH A RUSH B will have just in-game leaders, and TEAM ONE SHOT will have five AWPers between them. Each team will compete in a single-elimination bracket, with the semi-finals played in a best-of-one while it will be a best-of-three grand final.

In a statement, Natus Vincere CEO Yevhen Zolotarov said;

NAVI esports club turns 13 this year, but because of the war waged by Russia against Ukraine, we're not going to celebrate our birthday in the traditional way. Instead, we want to host a charitable BORN TO BE BRAVE CS:GO tournament to help Ukraine. All money raised will go towards UA’s medical needs as part of the UNITED24 presidential initiative."

Fans will be able to listen in to the TeamSpeak for each team, reveal the teams early, choose the map pool for the tournament, and choose the maps for the Grand Final should they hit specific milestones.
