Detonate mark return to competition with ECL roster

Detonate has returned to North American Counter-Strike with a familiar roster.

Following a brief hiatus from the scene, Detonate is back after announcing the signing of ESL Challenger League team Kari. The announcement does not come as much of a surprise to those who are familiar with the team, as Detonate announced that the owner of the organization, Kariann Tan, was announced as Detonate's general manager on November 11th.

Detonate departed the competitive scene back in September, citing an inability to resolve a contract impasse with their former team as the reason behind the decision. While the lineup decided to conclude the ECL season together, it was an unsuccessful venture as they finished ECL Season 42 without a single win before parting ways with each other. Detonate's new lineup has kicked off their ECL season in a positive fashion, taking down Snakes Den 2-1 in their opening game to give themselves a 1-0 record.

The Kari squad that Detonate picked up is the former Northern Forces team that departed the organization in September. Sebastian "Florence" Ogarev's lineup concluded ECL Season 42 with a 4-3 record. In the off-season following their failure to reach playoffs, Kari added Jack "micro" Ryan to replace the outgoing John "JTMythic" Timmerman who departed in order to focus on college.

This new Detonate roster sees a second change come to the squad this season as Benjamin "niise" Mauldin has been replaced by former BHOP player Brett "brett" Rhein. brett had been on the lookout for a new home following the demise of BHOP in the off-season.

As a result of the move, Detonate is now:

  • United States Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore

  • Sebastian "Florence" Ogarev

  • Canada Adam "freshie" Paterson

  • United States Jack "micro" Ryan

  • United States Brett "brett" Rhein

  • David "Dave" Tereshin (Coach)
