Complexity survive BNE comeback

A late comeback by BNE caused a scare for the NA side, despite a dominant opening 20 rounds.

Complexity have had a rather bamboozling run at Espoo so far, with a first-match surprise loss against 500, then upsetting one of the pre-tournament favorites fnatic with a dominant display, only to get dominated by SAW in their next match to leave them 1-2. It left the NA team needing to beat both BNE and Astralis to secure progression without relying on other team's results.

The match started off with Justin "FaNg" Coakley getting a teamkill in a 2v1 only to go and stick the ninja defuse in the 1v1 and lock up the round. What followed was a classic aggressive CT side from the Complexity side and they suffocated the Eagles' attack racing into a 6-2 lead.

After a poor performance against SAW FaNg was dominant on the CT side sitting on 134 ADR after ten rounds and with IGL Johnny "JT" Theodosiou managing to clutch up a 1v2 the mood was good in the NA camp.

They managed to extend their lead to 9-2 but the BNE side found a foothold in the match with a string of four rounds unanswered at the back end of the half to close the gap to 9-6 at the half.

Any momentum the BNE side had built at the end of the first half was quickly crushed with a pistol win and force-buy conversion by the Complexity team, with FaNg still posting the numbers as he got a clean 3k in round 17. BNE finally got a CT round winning a deagle buy in the 20th round to bring the score to 7-13 and give the Eagles some hope at a comeback.

The momentum was definitely beginning to shift as Complexity's control of the game was slipping completely as the gap was reduced to just two rounds. Despite a double entry from JT on the half buy, Complexity failed to get into strong post-plant positions which cost them a good chance to squash the comeback and the CT's tied up the game 13-13.

Michael "Grim" Wince decided it was his turn to cage the birds as he got a 4k to restore Complexity's slender lead. Complexity managed to drag themselves to map point but it would require the full 30 if they were going to close the game in normal time. A late explosion on the B site accompanied by two kills from JT locked up the win for the NA team.
