grape and co. will be taking a break from competition as they look to finish school

Brazen disband as college comes calling

A number of top ECL players will be taking a break from competition next season.

Brazen have disbanded, Dust2.us has confirmed with the team. The team's dissolution comes despite Brennan "grape" Greer and co. making playoffs during ESL Challenger League Season 42 due to the team's members focusing on their educations.

Brennan "grape" Greer announced that he would be taking time off from competition due to wanting to focus on college. It marks the end of the player's consistent participation in ESEA/ESL's leagues since starting his career in ESEA Open Season 27. This trend of putting CS:GO aside to focus on school is a common trend for the team as Brazen's coach, Nick "Noot" Samodurov, told Dust2.us that the rest of the squad are either in the midst of college or are looking to start next semester.

The team's dissolution marks the end of a difficult season for Brazen. They previously parted ways with Gage "Infinite" Green due to internal issues and an upcoming elbow surgery. The team also had to bring in James "JAM" H. as a stand-in towards the end of the regular season due to Hurricane Ian. With the Brazen quartet potentially all taking the next season off, at the very least it will mark a major departure of a number of journeymen players that have been integral to ECL.

Brazen were:

  • United States Keanu "Danejoris" Reyes

  • United States Brennan "grape" Greer

  • United States Jeff "RZU" Ngo

  • United States Marco "Pol0" Hernandez

  • Tianyi "Fr3nk1e" He

  • United States Nick "Noot" Samodurov (Coach)

  • United States Gage "Infinite" Green (Inactive)

With Brazen meeting its demise, Villainous will likely take over the team's spot in ESL Challenger League Season 43, although that is yet to be confirmed by ESL.
