IEM Rio Americas RMR Talent Announced
The Americas RMR is just around the corner and we now know the broadcast talent for the Major qualifier. There will be a number of first-time appearances with NA talent Mike "DarfMike" Winnick and John "JRT" Tsoupanarias being part of the commentary team.
Darfmike had the opportunity to host at IEM Katowice earlier this year, in what has been a breakout year for the American as he also worked on ESL Dreamhack Valencia. DarfMike's casting partner JRT is a lesser-known name, despite being a veteran of the American circuit and even making an appearance in 2017 on ESL Pro League Season 6.
Joining the first-timers will be relative veterans Mohan "Launders" Govindasamy and Conner "Scrawny" Girvan. The pair have been part of the new wave of talent that has refreshed the scene over the past two years and their attendance at S-Tier events is almost nailed on these days.
Former NIP analyst Danny "Mahone" Hsieh is set to put his analytical skills to work on the desk alongside Brazillian talent Raul "Raules" Ribeiro, the duo will be making their first appearance on an RMR broadcast. Bringing the experience to the desk will be Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg who, much like Launders and Scrawny, has been part of the talent refresh and has attended every S-Tier event so far this year.
On desk hosting duty for the RMR will be Sam "Tech Girl" Wright who worked this year's ESL Impact Valencia tournament. Bringing you the sideline reporting will be Anastasija "Heccu" Tolmačeva who got her first big break early this year interviewing at IEM Katowice and has since done ESL Pro League 16 as well.
It is refreshing to see an influx of fresh faces being given opportunities on the big stage and the sprinkle of experienced talent will be a great chance for the newer faces to develop and shine.
