Unjustified finalize roster ahead of ECL

micro returns to ECL after over half a year on the sidelines.

With their first match in Season 42 of ESL Challenger League fast approaching, Unjustified have announced the addition of Jack "micro" Ryan to round out their lineup. This marks a return to competition for micro, who has been out of action since he departed Levitate in late January this year.

Unjustified retained their spot in the season of ECL thanks to a number of squads either departing the league such as paiN, or outright disbanding as in the case of ONET4P. Unjustified showed some early promise in the previous season of ECL, keeping their matches against Gaimin Gladiators and paiN fairly close, but they struggled to translate this into series victories, with their only win of the season coming over ex-UYU, leaving the squad with a disappointing 1-6 record. The team did not fare particularly well in relegation, falling to timbermen and Detonate, a situation that would have normally sent the squad back to Advanced barring the oddness of this season.

Unjustified's roster has seen a significant shakeup heading into Season 42 of ECL, with McKinley "Cyrix" Hollison and Justin "jsfeltner" Feltner being the only two players on the current lineup to have played the entirety of the previous season with the squad. Kyle "Just2EZ" Tan played the first four matches of the previous season with Unjustified, but an 0-4 start led to his removal from the team, a decision that the squad has opted to reverse for this season.

The two fresh additions to the lineup are the aforementioned micro and Gabriel "tENSKI" Rodrigue. micro has been away from the server for quite some time, as his most recent time competing was spent with Levitate in ESEA Advanced Season 39 at the beginning of this year. micro departed the squad ahead of ESEA Advanced Season 40, citing a lack of enjoyment as his main reason for the move. tENSKI on the other hand is a more active player, having played the most recent season of Advanced on Québécois side Valors, who disbanded after narrowly missing out on Advanced playoffs in June.

Unjustified's roster is now:

  • United States McKinley "Cyrix" Hollison

  • United States Justin "jsfeltner" Feltner

  • United States Kyle "Just2EZ" Tan

  • United States Jack "micro" Ryan

  • Canada Gabriel "tENSKI" Rodrigue

This new-look Justified will be hoping to leave a mark in their opening match of ECL Season 42, set to be played against Challenger League debutants Davenport University on September 6th.
