COL leap back into the top 30

With a flawless victory in the first North American open qualifier for IEM Rio, Complexity have jumped 17 places up to #30.

Wake up babe, new HLTV global rankings just dropped and it has Complexity jumping 17 places to break into the Top 30 for the first time since June 13th. The North Americans have climbed to reach 30th place after winning the first IEM Road to Rio Americas RMR NA Open Qualifier with their new addition, Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli.

While one would think that the team's impressive victory over Natus Vincere in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups last Friday would have been the driving force behind their ranking improvement, the event is still ongoing and is not included in the rankings for the team just yet. Should Complexity continue their good form through the upcoming week, we should be able to see them rise further in the rankings and reach new heights.

North America has struggled in recent months to field a number of teams in the top 30 as Liquid continues to use a stand-in and Evil Geniuses' form has been far below par. With a re-tooled first team, EG look to bounce back and be competitive in the top flight while Complexity and Liquid go from strength to strength.

The jump into the Top 30 is a great first step for the new Complexity, and they'll be able to build off the growing momentum against OG in the knockout stage of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups on Thursday. Although they sit comfortably at No. 2 in NA, they are a ways from catching up to big brother Liquid, who currently rest inside the top ten worldwide. coL will have plenty of opportunities to gain ground on Liquid, as they'll both be at every notable event for the foreseeable future including EPL and the RMRs.
