chelo will now play alongside FalleN and co.

Imperial finally adds former MIBR player in reported $200,000 deal

chelo is joining the legendary South American squad after the team paid a huge amount for his services.

This morning, Imperial announced the addition of Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes to the squad one day after Lincoln "fnx" Lau was declared the new coach of the roster. This change aims to increase the team's firepower as fnx was the lowest-rated player on the Imperial squad.

The Brazilians hope chelo is the answer to their problems, as the 24-year-old is boasting a 1.16 HLTV rating during the last six months with MIBR. His statistics and energy naturally caught the eye of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and the rest of the organization, which prompted the team to pay a reported $200,000 fee for the player.

chelo's debut under the Imperial banner will come during the ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022, as the Brazilian Last Dance is already qualified for the IEM Road to Rio Americas RMR. The event in Melbourne will take place from September 2nd to September 4th with $100,000 and a spot in ESL Pro League Season 17 Conference up for grabs.

The Imperial squad is now:

  • Brazil Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo

  • Brazil Fernando "fer" Alvarenga

  • Brazil Ricardo "boltz" Prass

  • Brazil Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo

  • Brazil Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes

  • Brazil Lincoln "fnx" Lau (Coach)
