EG couldn't find a win in the first two games at BLAST

EG fall to BIG, will be 4th seed

The North American team lost against BIG and will face Ninjas in Pyjamas in the Play-in stage.

In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's 10th anniversary, the CS:GO gods were not smiling down on the Evil Geniuses roster. After a tough, but expected loss against FaZe Clan, the team led by new IGL Sanzhar "neaLan" Iskhakov failed to beat the Berlin-based organization and finished last in Group C.

The Mirage match started off with EG losing their CT-side pistol round and the follow up full-save round. The first full buy round for the North Americans also did not pan out as BIG managed to execute an A site hit almost flawlessly, losing only one player during the process and eliminating every EG player after planting the bomb. After falling to a 4-0 early deficit, Evil Geniuses managed to put one round on the board. It looked like the team was coming back to life and on the very next round, Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte netted a hat-trick of headshots to confirm that. EG went on to win the next round and make it a 4-3 game. With BIG needing an eco round to fill their pockets, a tie looked very likely, however the Germans managed to hit five Deagle headshots and increase their advantage. The main roster of the Blueprint project definitely felt that round loss and couldn't recuperate. The first half ended 12-3 with BIG's quick map movements and opening kills playing a huge factor in this lead.

Despite a meager first half, EG won the pistol round once the sides switched. The North Americans won the second round of the half and managed to bank some money, but the BIG team was confident enough to keep buying with little in their pocket. The 18th round was close, but Jadan 'HexT' Postma managed to clutch his way into a round win, making the game 12-6. Finally, a full buy round for both teams was on the cards. It was looking good for EG with a 4v2 advantage, but Karim "Krimbo" Moussa had other ideas and killed three enemies in a flash, putting BIG on the board for the first time in the second half. That round looked to shift the momentum. After the 13-6, three swift rounds followed, all in favor of the Berlin-based organization and the game ended 16-6, with the North Americans finishing this stage in last place of their group.

Evil Geniuses' next match will be against Ninjas in Pyjamas on Thursday at 12:00PM
