Breaking: SportsBetExpert announce surprise freshie, ogwizard signings

In a surprise announcement tonight, SportsBetExpert a Counter-Strike 2 organization tied to the sports betting handicapper of the same name, have announced the dual signings of Adam "freshie" Paterson and Bogdan "ogwizard" Savula, seeing the experienced NA players join the organization amidst a general overhaul of their CS2 roster.

SportsBetExpert made their first foray into CS2 in mid 2025 with an Open10 team that won the division and earned a spot in ESEA Advanced Season 54. That team boasted Alperen "TR0JN" Kilic and Evan "Evan" Cawthorn, who have been retained on this new roster. TR0JN is most known for his time with LAG while Evan spent a number of months on the Revenge Nation/LFO 4 roster in 2024 and 2025.

freshie joins his roster after being cut from BLUEJAYS on August 1st while ogwizard has been on the lookout for a new home after the demise of Party Astronauts in late July. With these signings the organization likely had ambitions to compete in the upper echelons of the NA scene, however they will need to contend with starting that journey with 0 VRS points.

SportsBetExpert's CEO Peter Anadio told Dust2.us that the organization is financially support by the betting handicapper of the same name, that the players are salaried, and that after founding the organization this year, Anadio's goal is to climb the ranks with the hope of challenging for a top spot in the NA scene. Like many org owners and the like in the space, Anadio has a background as a semi-professional 1.6 player in the various divisions of the Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL).
