MIBR beat TYLOO to qualify for ESL Pro League Season 16

The Brazilians were able to overcome TYLOO's resilience to move on to Pro League.

MIBR have taken down TYLOO 2-0 in their second match of the ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference, qualifying the Brazilian side for ESL Pro League Season 16 in the fall. This will be the first season of ESL Pro League for many of the players on the squad, and the first for the organization since ESL Pro League Season 13.

The series kicked off on TYLOO's pick of Mirage, with MIBR beginning on the CT-side. TYLOO started off nicely by securing the first pistol round, but the Brazilian side quickly rallied to secure five rounds in a row in response. TYLOO did eventually manage to break MIBR's streak, but Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes' men soon picked up where they left off, posting three more rounds to claim an 8-2 lead. In the end, TYLOO was able to compose themselves to steal away three more rounds, bringing the Brazilian's lead to 10-5 at halftime.

MIBR started the next half on the right foot, locking down the second pistol round of the game. Although it looked like this would give MIBR the momentum they needed to run away with the game, the game soon devolved into a streaky, back-and-forth affair, with each squad stringing together a few rounds in a row before their opponent did the same. TYLOO eventually narrowed MIBR's lead down to 14-12, but it was just not enough, as chelo and his men claimed the last two rounds they needed to steal away Mirage 16-12.

MIBR kept themselves in the driver's seat for much of the first half on their pick of Dust2. Starting on the T-side, MIBR secured the first pistol round but they were immediately met with a TYLOO victory in the second round. That did little to stop the Brazilians, however, as they swept aside TYLOO for much of the rest of the half, moving along to lock in an 11-4 scoreline at the half.

With MIBR so close to finishing the series, it seemed unlikely that TYLOO would be able to muster a response. But the Chinese squad did exactly that, claiming nine of the first ten rounds of the second half to take the lead for the first time in the series. An eco-round win for MIBR put a stop to TYLOO's resurgence, giving MIBR the energy they needed to put themselves on match point. TYLOO were not discouraged by this development, snatching the final two rounds to force overtime. TYLOO cleanly swept their T-side in overtime to claim match point 18-15, but they were unable to put up a solid defense, allowing MIBR to take the game to double overtime. In a hard-fought double overtime, MIBR pulled through to close out Dust2 22-20, qualifying them for ESL Pro League Season 16.
