NA lose in Dubai

The young North Americans' woes continue as they were eliminated after their first match of the Global Esports Tour Dubai 2022.

Complexity opened up on the CT-side of Overpass, the map pick of the newly refreshed OG, with a pistol round win and a messy conversion against the force buy. The American side would continue on in impressive fashion, storming out to a 7-1 lead before new OG signing Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar would cause some chaos and bring back a 2v4 situation to win the round and give OG a second. This would be one of the only signs of life for the European side in the first half, with their only other round win coming in the final round of the half as Complexity sealed a dominant 12-3 lead.

OG would begin their arduous comeback in the right fashion with a pistol round and a conversion before Justin "FaNg" Coakley would disrupt their flow with double entry on the first gun round and forcing a save call. Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and co. would continue to fight, making it 13-11, before Complexity would regain control and send it to Vertigo with a 16-11 victory.

The Europeans stormed out to an early 3-0 lead following their victory on the CT-side pistol round on Vertigo, with this dominance foreshadowing the remainder of the first half. Complexity did find some success on the T-side, taking two-round wins and seemingly putting some pressure on OG to adapt as they made it 4-2. Adapt is exactly what the Europeans would do, with Complexity only being allowed one bomb plant for the remainder of the half, with Michael "Grim" Wince accidentally team killing Paytyn "junior" Johnson, before subsequently falling in the 1v1. Complexity went on to secure one more round, with junior and Johnny "JT" Theodosiou winning a 2v4 to close out the half 12-3 in the favor of OG

FaNg very nearly opened up the half in heroic fashion, falling in the 1v1 in crushing fashion after bringing it back from a 1v5 situation. Complexity managed to steal away a round on the follow-up force-buy and begin their comeback attempt, bringing it to a respectable 14-8 score line. The comeback would not come to fruition, however, as OG comfortably closed out the American's map pick with a 16-8 score.

The classic Inferno decider was on the cards for this series and was opened up by Complexity taking an early 3-0 lead. The OG IGL nexa would lead by example in round four, winning a 1v2 on the B-site to secure a first for his team. Complexity's CT-side started in a competitive fashion, with the two sides being tied up at 4-4. Despite being on the traditionally favored side, Complexity fell flat for the remainder of the half as OG charged into an 8-4 lead. Complexity found a fifth after a tense 2v1 was nearly lost with JT and FaNg nearly lining up on low hp.

OG brought a 10-5 lead into their CT-side before winning the pistol round. Complexity would find a victory on the force buy before continuing on to bring the score line back to 11-8. The back and forth nature of the first half would repeat itself as the two sides exchanged round wins, with OG maintaining a 12-10 lead. It was unfortunately not to be for the Americans though, as OG found their feet eventually and would close out the game 16-10, sending Complexity home after merely a day in Dubai.

This exit marks the second time in two days that a North American team has been eliminated from a competition with European contenders following Evil Genuises' elimination from the Pinnacle Cup yesterday. This result is also yet another disappointing showing from Complexity, with there being a strong chance of them finding success against a newly formed and unproven OG.
