Ex-wife of former NAVI IGL alleges drug abuse
The story of Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov has taken another turn since his benching on Natus Vincere just last week. In a public statement, the Ukrainian organization said the player was benched due to "high reputational risks for the club" and "it is not the result of his game". Initial public speculation surrounding the move was that the player did not want to leave Russia, causing issues for the club. NAVI CEO Yevhen Zolotarov said in an interview with the Washington Post "We are not going to work with people who live in Russia and who pay taxes to the Russian Federation".
This initial speculation might have been correct, but the emergence of several videos this morning paints a different picture. Videos and images of Boombl4 in several compromising positions were posted to Telegram, a secure online messaging app that has gained popularity in recent years thanks to its secure encryption and lack of moderation. The videos were allegedly posted by Boombl4's ex-wife in her own Telegram channel where they have now been circulated widely through different social media channels. Due to the nature of the video content and the manner in which they were posted, Dust2.us has chosen not to link to them to respect the privacy of the individual. Several illicit images appear to show the player with his genitalia out and appearing to do salacious acts. The most egregious video of the Russian IGL shows him to be allegedly snorting a white powder on a dining table.
On Twitter this morning, Boombl4 stated that he has divorced his wife after being blackmailed with several different photos and videos. He also references "fake information" which refers to the allegations of domestic abuse that his wife has made in her Telegram channel.
The videos are incredibly damaging and will potentially hurt Boombl4's career opportunities going forward. If it does not, it will surely impact the player's own personal health as he struggles to overcome a very personal matter.
