Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 3 Day 9 recap: Marsborne v. BOSS marred by DDOS attack
Day 9 of the third Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series wrapped up last night, with four matches taking place in the 2-1 and 1-2 pools.
The day was soiled by a DDOS attack, which hit BOSS player Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman, forcing BOSS to forfeit the match and moving them to 2-2. With the result, Marsborne move on to the playoffs.
Aether 2-0 Shimmer
Aether picked the first map in the series, electing to start on Inferno. They began with a solid T side, taking an 8-4 lead into the second half. Shimmer showed signs of life, but it wasn't enough. Aether held serve on their map, winning 13-8.
Shimmer selected Mirage, but it was Aether who took control, leading 8-4 at halftime once again. Shimmer weren't able to string anything together in the second period, as they fell 13-5 and are eliminated from Eagle Masters Series 3. Aether improve to 2-2 with the win.

Legacy Kingdom 2-0 
FlyQuest RED
The second 1-2 match was Legacy Kingdom v. FlyQuest RED which was also unfortunately marred by DDOS issues affecting Vanessa "Vanessa" Gideon and Marie "marie" Ellen Toft Sørensen throughout the series. Legacy Kingdom chose Inferno, but FlyQuest RED looked comfortable on the CT side. FlyQuest took a 7-5 advantage after the first half of play. Legacy Kingdom didn't lose a single round in the second half and took the lead 1-0 in the series thanks to their 13-7 win.
FlyQuest RED picked Overpass for their map, but their struggles continued on this map. Legacy Kingdom surrendered just one round in the first half to taking a commanding 11-1 lead. They converted the map 13-2 to survive in the league and eliminate FlyQuest RED.

LAG 2-1 ASPYRE
The closest match of the night came from LAG v. ASPYRE. LAG decided to pick Dust2 to begin the series. The map started neck-and-neck, with both teams unable to gain the upper hand after a 6-6 first half. It was LAG who blinked first, allowing ASPYRE to run away with a 13-7 victory in the first map.
ASPYRE picked Ancient to try to close out the series. After another cagey first half, it was LAG who led 7-5. Another even half saw LAG hold on to their slim advantage and steal Ancient via a 13-10 scoreline.
Inferno was the deciding map, and it followed the script of the first two maps, as the first half ended 6-6. The map was deadlocked at 9-9 when LAG took over, taking the next four rounds to qualify for the playoffs and send ASPYRE to a 2-2 match.
