FURIA head home from Dallas with a 3rd-4th place finish

ENCE eliminate FURIA from IEM Dallas

The Brazilians were no match for this European opponent.

FURIA's time in IEM Dallas has drawn to a close after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of ENCE. FURIA's exit from the tournament has brought the Americas' representation in the event to a close, with North America, in particular, doing particularly poorly during their time on home soil.

The first semifinal of the event began on FURIA's pick of Vertigo with the Brazilians coming out of the gate strong with a 4-0 lead to kick off their T-side. Determined to not let FURIA snowball, the European mix soon answered back with six consecutive rounds of their own to take the lead. However, this one-round statement from FURIA would prove to be the end of their first-half successes, with ENCE soon finding the remaining four rounds of the half to head into their T-side with a comfortable 10-5 buffer.

Much like the opening half, FURIA initially got off on the right foot by adding four of the opening six rounds to keep the Europeans honest. This clinical showing by the Brazilians only continued as the half entered the second phase with another four-round spree seeing FURIA take the lead once more at 13-12. This revival of form by the FURIA camp would ultimately prove to be pointless, however, with ENCE hitting their stride when it mattered most, finding four of the final five rounds to steal the map 16-14 and lead the series 1-0.

The two teams then paid a trip to Nuke with ENCE quickly justifying their pick by drumming up an early 5-2 lead before FURIA responded with six of their own to take the lead. Alas, much like Vertigo, ENCE soon ate away at the deficit in the final stages of the half, adding the remaining two rounds to trail by just one round at the swap.

ENCE really hit their stride once on their CT-side, posting a stalwart defense which saw the European mix cruise their way to match point with little FURIA could do to stop the onslaught. Although FURIA did manage to stop the European side from winning outright with a lone round, they were unable to repeat their comeback versus G2 yesterday in this game, eventually falling 16-9 to gift ENCE a ticket into the grand final.
