FURIA put together a very well-rounded performance to take the win

FURIA victorious in the Battle for Brazil

FURIA proved why they are the number one Brazilian team by taking down Imperial.

The opening matchups for IEM Dallas 2022 set up a Brazilian derby on the very first day, with the top dogs in South America, FURIA, and the veteran squad led by the legendary Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo facing off. Beforehand the anticipation was high, the storylines were running wild and only time would tell if this game would live up to the hype.

The Brazilian bloodbath was played out on Mirage where, despite Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo's best efforts in the early game against his former squad, FURIA were able to reaffirm their authority as the best team in Brazil. The Florida-based giants were able to win the match 16-9.

In the first half, FURIA came out swinging treating us viewers to a delightful display of how CT-sided Counter-strike should be played. The reads were on point, the trading was exceptional and it just felt like whatever Imperial tried, FURIA countered almost perfectly. Imperial was able to get one round at the end of the half in an effort to halt their opponent's momentum but FURIA were firing on all cylinders and ended the half 12-3 in which Yuri "yuurih" Santos' impact cannot be understated.

The second half started to look as FURIA would finish off compatriots with brutal efficiency but Imperial began to claw back into the game, putting together a few decent rounds at the end of the game. However, this spell was too little too late as the game ended 16-9.
