Liquid and Complexity both kick off their Major runs 0-1

North America's Two Major Representatives Utterly Embarrassed in Opening Games

Both Complexity and Liquid felt that Inferno was where they would find success in their opening games. They were sorely mistaken.

North America's Major campaign got off to a dismal start today, with both Complexity and Liquid losing 16-1 and 16-6 in their opening matches of the Challengers Stage. Ricky "floppy" Kemery and co. faced the French-Danish hybrid of Vitality, with floppy stating in an interview pre-match with Dust2.us that they were anticipating Inferno. In the absence of this quote, it would have appeared that Complexity had hardly played Inferno, let alone prepared for it.

Dan "apEX" Madesclaire seemed to have every possible read over fellow IGL Johnny "JT" Theodosiou, with nearly every CT setup resulting in a comfortable round win. As for Complexity, while nobody really showed up on this map at all, Paytyn "junior" Johnson was particularly abysmal, posting a 0.18 rating for the map.

Liquid on the other hand had a slightly better showing against G2, however coming into this matchup, many would have wished for a far closer game. The first half was incredibly similar to that of Complexity. Both Liquid and Complexity started on T-side, struggled to break into the bombsites and the IGL of the opposition seemingly had a read on every move they made.

Liquid went into the halftime break 13-2 down, however as a result of winning the pistol round, they bought themselves some extra time on the server. Despite Josh "oSee" Ohm beginning to heat up after minimal impact in the first half, it was too little, too late as Nikola "NiKo" Kovač shut down any notion of another NA comeback on Inferno at the Major, securing a 16-6 victory for G2.
