Levitate lose Jermaine and try

Now down to three players, Levitate will need to rebuild as they look to round out the season.

Connor "Jermaine" B. and Austin "try" Cox have stepped down from Levitate midway through ESEA Advanced Season 40. The duo's decision to leave the roster coincides with the team's 16-1 battering at the hands of Carpe Diem in the fourth round of the fifth ESEA Winter Cash Cup last night.

Their departures from Levitate bring an end to the pair's brief stints with the squad, with Jermaine and try joining at the start of January and February, respectively. Whilst on Levitate's books, the side were able to start off their ESEA Advanced Season 40 campaign relatively strongly, with the roster currently posting a 5-3 record. Despite this, the team only ever had middling performances in the two ESEA Cash Cups they participated in as a full lineup, bowing out in the fourth round in both of their appearances.

In their showing at Fragadelphia 16: Chicago with Jermaine, Levitate did show some promise. They performed strongly in their group, going undefeated on the back of three comfortable victories versus Fourth Quarter, Tempest and No Air Above. But, in spite of their solid start, the playoffs would be a different story, as they suffered a relatively one-sided 2-0 defeat at the hands of Fragging for Jason in the first round to be sent home in 9th-16th place.

Jermaine explained to Dust2.us that after try stepped down, he thought it would be in his best interests to follow suit. He went on to say that Levitate as a team were fully supportive in his decision and he'll be looking to finish out the season on another Advanced roster. Should no opportunity present itself, the 19-year-old will be taking the remainder of the season off to focus on personal improvement.

Meanwhile, Levitate coach Cole "RoundCube" Taylor added that there had been an internal disagreement which plagued the team prior to Jermaine's decision to part ways with the lineup. RoundCube further elaborated that try decided to leave the roster as the 21-year-old is wanting to focus on his education for the time being.

Levitate currently have:

  • Drew "Drewtheshrew" Lamb

  • Kaid "bootylord" Miller

  • Josh "JBa" Barutt

  • Cole "RoundCube" Taylor (Coach)

It is yet to be seen who will fill the voids left by Jermaine and try's departures but time is of the essence as the side have an ESEA Advanced matchup against Magic School Bus tomorrow at 10:00PM.
