This will be NRG's first appearance at a cs_summit event

Beyond The Summit announce details for cs_summit 3

NRG, Ghost and compLexity will represent NA.

Two weeks out from the event, Beyond The Summit have announced their format, prize pool and team list, featuring the likes of NRG, Ghost and compLexity. The teams will be playing from November 1st to November 4th in the Summit House in Los Angeles.

Another $150,000 will be up for grabs in the same format as the previous events; a best-of-3 double elimination playoffs with the grand final featuring a best-of-5. The team coming from the upper bracket in the grand final will earn a one-map advantage.

The brackets and schedule have yet to announced, however, the eight teams participating look as such:

 BIG compLexity
G2 Canada Ghost
Denmark Heroic Kinguin
United States NRG Denmark OpTic

Notably, Cloud9 and Liquid, who have both appeared in the prior cs_summit tournaments, including the grand finals of cs_summit 2 where Liquid would defeat Cloud9 3-2, will not be attendance for the event.

Uhm, they invited Cloud9, it's just that Cloud9 had to decline because they will be at Blast Copenhagen from November 2nd-3rd. Same with MIBR. Liquid was also invited, but they apparently wanted to have a break after Epicenter.

That's quite unfortunate. Guess it explains why there's a lot more lower tier teams this time round though.

Personally I like this line up of teams, other than G2 and Heroic maybe. Would have been cool to see a team like Imperial, ENCE, Renegades, or Vitality. But I suppose Imperial and ENCE are both gunning for that final IEM Chicago spot, which is supposed to take place like two days after cs_summit.

But yeah, these teams definitely are a tier below teams like Liquid, Na'Vi, Astralis, and what not.
