There's a new Swede in town

Golden joins Cloud9 on a permanent deal

The Swedish player had been on loan at the American organization, having stood in for the ELEAGUE Premier.

Makil "Golden" Selim has joined Cloud9 from Fnatic after standing-in for the team at the recent ELEAGUE Premier tournament in Atlanta, where the team finished 7-8th at the bottom of Group A. This move means the Swede will join the team for the ELEAGUE Major.

Golden had been without a starting spot on a team since being benched by the Swedish team in mid-June, being replaced by William "draken" Sundin in the squad and having Richard "Xizt" Landström take up his role as In-Game Leader. Golden joins full-time after Tarik "tarik" Celik moved to the majority-Brazilian team MIBR last month.

The current status of Martin "STYKO" Styk is still to be announced, with the Slovak player still on the bench with European team mousesports. STYKO had been acting as a stand-in for Cloud9 for two previous events, ESL One Cologne and ELEAGUE Premier. With the Major roster lock having passed a few days ago, August 5th, an announcement on this should be expected imminently.

Cloud9's roster is currently:

  • United States Timothy "autimatic" Ta
  • United States Will "RUSH" Wierzba
  • United States Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham
  • Sweden Maikil "Golden" Selim
  • United States Soham "valens" Chowdhury (Coach)

Joe
Dust2 Birthday cake!
Solid pickup, not completely sold on Styko yet though. I still hope that they can work on something during the break and show up strong at the major though!
