Comcast Spectacor invests into N3rd Street Gamers

The Philadelphia sports giants will delve further into esports.

The tournament organizer N3rd Street Gamers has received an investment from Comcast Spectacor, the owners of the Overwatch League team Philadelphia Fusion as well as the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and the Philadelphia Wings of the NLL. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

The groups have joined together in the past, just earlier this month putting on an amateur Overwatch tournament which was licensed by Blizzard. N3rd Street Gamers are mainly known for hosting many LAN events for CS:GO, and even created the Eastern Conference Championship earlier this year.

NSG and the Comcast subsidiary are set to put on a number of events in the future to "develop and showcase amateur gamers."

You can find more information including quotes from chairman and president of N3rd Street Gamers John Fazio and Comcast Spectacor Chairman and CEO Dave Scott at the article by Philadelphia Business Journal.
