freakazoid and Swole Patrol shocked Rogue in the semi-final

compLexity and Swole Patrol qualify for ZOTAC Cup Masters Americas Regional

The regional final now sees five of its six spots filled out.

The ZOTAC Cup Masters Americas Closed Qualifier has come to an end, seeing Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir's Swole Patrol and Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's compLexity into the Regional Finals in Santa Ana, California.

A 2-1 victory over Rogue granted the muscle men their slot at the LAN, while compLexity had a far easier affair demolishing F1-racecar-PEEK over two maps. Rogue initially held an 11-4 lead on their pick of Mirage at the beginning of the series, but were unable to capitalize off their first half victory and found only one additional round before Swole Patrol took the map for themselves.

While Spencer "Hiko" Martin and co. were able to battle back on Train, their efforts proved unfruitful as their Overpass performance left a lot to be desired. Austin "Cooper-" Abadir led the way for the Patrol to take Overpass with ease, finishing with a 16-6 scoreline.

compLexity showed no mercy as they dismantled F1-racecar-PEEK, with opportunities for the MDL squad to get back into the series few and far between.

Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan and stanislaw helmed the way on both maps to grant their team extremely one-sided first halves — a 10-5 half lead on the T side of Nuke allowed for stanislaw and co. to close out map 1 16-6, while a 13-2 half on Train ensured a swift end to the series.
