Xyp9x and device stepped up against Liquid

Astralis flawlessly win ECS Season 5

The Danes are 3/4 in tournaments since Marseille.

The grand final of ECS Season 5 has been won by Astralis over Team Liquid 2-0 (16-14 Mirage, 16-11 Dust II). They take the first place prize of $250,000, leaving Liquid with only $120,000.

Astralis kicked off Liquid's pick of Mirage with a huge 9-0 lead, eventually reaching 15-4 early on in the second half. Liquid then mounted a monumental comeback, headed by Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, and won 10 rounds in a row to make the score 15-14. However, Astralis stole away the final round to take map one 16-14.

Map two seemed to be the opposite of the previous map as Liquid was the one to gain a large 10-2 lead on Astralis's map pick. However, the monstruous Astralis Terrorist side, with Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth in the lead, went 14-1 in rounds after that deficit to snag back the map and win Dust II 16-11 and the series 2-0, depite the heroics of Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski.
