This will be Hiko's first LAN since his stint with OpTic

Teams and talent announced for ROG MASTERS Americas

The four North American teams will do battle in California for a spot in the Grand Finals in China.

The ROG MASTERS Americas Regional Finals will run this weekend from November 3rd to November 5th, and now the four teams playing there have been announced. Rise Nation had booked a spot at the event way back in August, but were unable to attend due to a conflict with the Americas Minor. They have been replaced by the recently revamped subtLe squad, who were the runners-up in that qualifier.

To round out the team list, the ESL Pro League sides of Ghost, Rogue and Splyce have been invited to the event. Notably, this will be the first LAN outing as a unit for all of the teams involved. Dust2.us has learned that in spite of reports that Josh "shinobi" Abastado was benched from Rogue in favor of Shawn "witmer" Taylor, the in-game leader is now back on the starting line-up and will attend the event. Taylor has already linked up with GX.

The teams will be playing for the final spot at the ROG MASTERS Grand Finals in China, which will have $250,000 on offer. Gambit, mousesports and TyLoo are some of the sides that have already booked their spots there, so whichever North American side emerges victorious will have their work cut out for them.

Handling the broadcasting duties will be two familiar faces to anyone who watches ESEA broadcasts, as well as a new face:

  • United States Mark "boq" Wilson
  • United States Will "topical" Dallas
  • Canada Chase "TipZ" Hartling

The full team list for ROG MASTERS Americas is:

Canada subtLe United States Splyce

It sucks that we weren’t able to go to this event as we had won the qualifier months ago. Waiting for Asus/ESL to tell us when the event was took forever and then the Minor got announced right after. Good luck to subtLe and whoever gets to go China

Rogue needs to win this. Losing 90% of EPL matches must really be demotivating. Failing this event might be the final nail in the coffin for them. Hopefully my boy Hiko pulls through though.
