What a great article Joe Cardali. Glad people keep spewing out false information without having any clue what happened. All that was typed to them throughout the game were smiley faces and question marks (only from me and hiki). I guess the team owner had to apologize for his team typing those horribly rude question marks in response to ours. Everything said in team voice chat ("too easy", "brazil is lost", "fuck brazil") was not over-the-line and was just us getting hyped; paired with the fact that they obviously can't hear it. This "monkey noise" that I made was directed at my teammates and in relation to what we were saying in Discord: "lets run and jump through mid like monkeys". The context in which I said it was describing a play style which many players relate to a monkey: holding w and jumping around corners. The context that apparently everyone in spectate thought was a direct racial insult to the other team. Considering we were well aware of everyone watching and that they could hear our in-game comms, I'd say it's pretty obvious I wouldn't knowingly be racist in front of thousands of people. With that being said, I'm still confused as to how we taunted them and how they are victims of racism. Kind of ironic since during the first 2 maps our steam profiles were littered with Brazilian teenagers threatening to hunt us down and calling us NA trash. All in all, pretty good showing for a pug team full of drunk, cheeseburger-eating racists.
