A studious display from chrisJ's side saw them take the final playoffs spot

mousesports take down Cloud9; to playoffs

The European side secured two extremely close maps to go through in Kiev.

The final Swiss game of the StarSeries i-League Season 4 Finals saw Cloud9 take on mousesports, with only one more playoff spot remaining. The two teams took battle on Mirage, Train and Cobblestone.

Mirage began with mousesports picking up the pistol and two anti-eco rounds on their T-side, but it was Cloud9 to secure the first buy round. mousesports secured the next round, before a CZ-force from the Americans saw them back into the game. However, the European side weren't letting Cloud9 back in, taking the next round and starting a run.

Martin "STYKO" Styk and Robin "ropz" Cool were charging their team ahead as they secured six consecutive rounds. Although Timothy "autimatic" Ta picked up four kills to claim another round for his team, it was mousesports to complete the rout with the final two of the half for a 12-3 lead.

The second half opened up with Cloud9's CT-side taking the pistol and two anti-eco rounds, before mousesports returned to the lead with a comfortable buy round win. From there the Europeans secured map point, but Cloud9 kept mousesports away from the win for the next three rounds as Jake "Stewie2K" Yip started to warm into the match.

From there Cloud9 started to roll rounds up to be on the brink of overtime. autimatic was on the hard carry, pulling his team out of what was looking like certain defeat. With the Americans just one round away from forcing overtime, mousesports finally showed some form of their first half display to secure the 16-14 win - just.

Train began with Cloud9 securing the pistol and first anti-eco on their CT-side, before mousesports forced into the third round to get straight into the game. From there the Europeans took the lead in the map, before Cloud9 evened the scores once again. Thanks to Miikka "suNny" Kemppi, mousesports were slowly pushing a lead on the unfavored side.

But they forgot about the existence of autimatic, with his performances on the AWP collecting four kills. After that Cloud9 secured six unbeaten rounds for the remainder of their CT-side, even if mousesports collected the final round to only be 9-6 behind.

The second half saw mousesports' CT-side start with the pistol and anti-eco rounds, before Cloud9 collected the first full-buy round. From there the Americans headed up to the 14th round unanswered, right until Chris "chrisJ" de Jong collected an ace which began with three MP7 kills.

However Cloud9 collected the next round as Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham helped his team along to the map point. But Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný secured a 1v3 to prevent the American side from moving onto the third map, forcing Cloud9 onto an eco. With just the final round of regulation remaining, STYKO collected three to force the two sides into overtime.

Cloud9 collected the first round of the overtime, but mousesports' CT-side answered back in the next two rounds as the European side went ahead for the first time since the first half. The second set of rounds were started off by mousesports' T-side before chrisJ and co. secured the win with a 19-16 win.
