CS Asia Championships 2026 Day One Recap: NA teams concede close games as M80 finds a win
In the wee hours of the night, day one of the CS Asia Championships 2026 took place, seeing three NA teams step up to the plate for the final LAN before the IEM Cologne Major next month. Unfortunately, day one of the Chinese LAN did not go to plan for the NA hopefuls in Shanghai, with our region going 1-2 in a number of close opening Bo1s and 0-1 in Bo3s.
With most of our readers asleep during the Chinese LAN, we've put together a quick recap of last night's action.
PARIVISION 13-9 Liquid 
Day one of CAC started off with Liquid facing off against PARIVISION, with the team unfortunately having to field Viktor "flashie" Tamás Bea for Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa due to a supposedly minor visa snag. As can be expected, this played a not insignificant role in Liquid dropping the map, however things were close due to a great performance from Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak while a disaster-class showing from Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski may very well have been the difference maker against the Russian team.

Legacy 13-10 NRG
Another close loss for NA as NRG fell in a 13-10 loss to defending CAC champions Legacy. NRG managed to keep things competitive on Nuke, however a great T-side performance from Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer helped power Legacy to the close win over the NA hopefuls despite Michael "Grim" Wince also cooking on the server.

Finally a win for NA as M80 picked up a win over paiN on Mirage after a 6-6 T-side led into a confident CT-side from the M80 crew, with Joshua "JBa" Barutt and Michael "Swisher" Schmid both posting 17 kills in the win.

Falcons 2-0 M80
Day one ended up M80 falling to Falcons in a tantalizingly close loss to Falcons. The series started on Inferno with M80 holding their own and forcing overtime before giving up the map in double OT with a 19-15 scoreline. From there, Ancient was an ever more painful loss for M80 as they led 8-4 after a strong CT-side effort before collapsing to a degree on their T-side, giving up their lead before failing to force OT and losing the map 13-11.
