Luminosity exit first event winless with loss to NIP
After falling to Nemesis and Lynn Vision in the best-of-ones, Luminosity lost their elimination match 1-2 to Ninjas in Pyjamas, sending them home from XSE Pro League in last place. Though this is the team's first event with former Legacy IGL Lucas "lux" Meneghini instead of Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen, the result is still a huge underperformance given the opponents they faced.
Perhaps most worrying is the utter lack of output from almost everyone on the team. Over the five maps they played in Guangzhou, only lux managed a rating over 1.00.

Though Luminosity went down 1-5 early despite winning the pistol round, they rallied to tie the score at 6-6. After losing the pistol, Luminosity got seven rounds in a row to steal NIP's pick 13-7.
On Luminosity's Inferno pick, NIP had the slow start down 0-4, but won seven of the next eight rounds to take a slight 7-5 lead. Luminosity had another strong start, but once again NIP got it together and took the map 13-10.
The series decider was Mirage, and NIP got four in a row before Luminosity got their first. Unfortunately for Luminosity, they were not able to carry that win into a competitive half as they only managed three round wins total. After NIP won the pistol and conversions, Luminosity could only delay the inevitable before NIP won Mirage 13-7.
With their elimination from XSE Pro League, Luminosity will need to wait until August 12th for the Esports World Cup in Paris, their next event.
