Walco links up with EMPIRE after four months on the bench

On May 14th, EMPIRE announced the addition of Colby "Walco" Walsh to the team's ranks, while Dust2.us has confirmed that he will be replacing Ezekiel "KmZ" Hughes within the lineup. The signing sees the Canadian IGL return to action after spending the past four months on SkinRave's bench following their departure from Counter-Strike 2.

With the move to EMPIRE, Walco will step down into tier-three of the NA scene after spending the last few years leading some of the NA subtop's best team. With that said, EMPIRE have made notable strides in recent months, claiming a spot in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) while claiming some notable wins over LAG and Aether in the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #7.

The team's coach, Jeremy "Nexity" Bardy, told Dust2.us that the felt like they had reached their ceiling without a proper IGL and that Walco brings a ton of experience to the team. In replacing KmZ, Nexity said it was a tough decision, however they had to make room for Walco as a priority addition to the team.
