LAG part ways with coach Aureo shortly after consti departure

Just days after star AWPer Kevin "consti" Yi left to join SportsBetExpert, LAG announced that they mutually agreed to release coach Brennan "Aureo" O’Connell from his contract. Aureo had been on LAG for nearly a year after he joined alongside the Vagrants roster.

Aureo's departure comes at the end of a tenuous period for LAG, as they have struggled to find form in their recent events. Though the roster showed strong potential earlier in the year with wins at Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #6 and ESEA S56 NA Finals, they have had consistent issues capitalizing on other opportunities.

Notably, the lineup choked a 2-0 lead in the qualifier for PGL Astana, and couldn't reach the finals of any FRAG events or ECL Cups despite being strong contenders. Recently, they fell in the quarterfinals of CCT NA Series #4 and FRAG 20.

Dust2.us reached out to Aureo for comment on the move. He said, "I made the decision to step down from LAG because it felt like the right time for a new challenge." He added that his time on LAG was positive overall. "I'm incredibly grateful for the experiences, relationships, and growth that came from my time with the team."

With AWPer consti and now coach Aureo leaving the team, LAG's struggles seem to be getting worse.
