REZ: "I hope I can channel my inner Oakland when we play the grand final"

Shortly after their victory over Legacy to reach the grand final of IEM Atlanta, Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore had a quick chat with veteran Swede Fredrik "REZ" Sterner.

REZ talked about their match against Legacy, thoughts on the other teams in the playoffs, and the upcoming grand final.

Congratulations on the win over Legacy. How do you feel you did in the pressure of this semifinal?

It's a huge step in the right direction for us. It's really important for the major. Now, we're gonna have more confidence. We're starting to believe that we are one of the strongest opponents in the scene. I think we are a top ten securely right now. It's a huge win for us.

What does it mean to you to have a role in taking this team to the finals?

I'm super happy that we managed to do this. It's always special when I come to America. Something about this place. It's something in my heart when I go here. I hope I can channel my inner Oakland when we play the grand final.

I really believe we can win, even if it's BetBoom or NAVI. We've been playing close games against them. We are definitely capable of winning this whole event right now.

What are your thoughts on the semifinal between NAVI and BetBoom, especially with BetBoom being in a similar place to you guys?

BetBoom surprised Vitality. They can definitely beat NAVI; it's definitely possible. NAVI has to play their A-game if they want to get through. We played BetBoom at BLAST Rivals in Fort Worth, and they beat us.

They are a strong team. They have really strong individuals. I don't doubt it, and I don't think anyone should underestimate them.

Do you have the mindset that you need a big scalp for the win to mean a lot, or are you just happy to win tomorrow?

We are the hungriest team here. We haven't really won a big trophy in a long time. Me and Snax haven't in a while. Tauson, PR, and hypex haven't really won a big tournament yet. We are really hungry for that now. After this win, we have more belief and more hunger to do it.

Maybe we didn't have that goal when we came into the tournament; we came here to develop as a team and figure out how strong we are. Now, we're in the grand final, and it's starting to feel like we believe we can win this.
