Fisher are no match for G2 in PGL Astana opener
Astana underdogs Fisher have fallen to 12th-ranked G2 in an uphill opening match. The squad made history by becoming the first collegiate team to attend an S-tier event, but with this accomplishment comes a new level of competition.
Despite it being their map pick, Ancient was not generous to Fisher. They would take the opening pistol, but any expectation that they might actually win the map was merely false hope, as G2 went on an uncontested 13-round streak.
The opening half of Inferno brought out a solid effort from the collegiate squad, with their CT side garnering five rounds off the back of Tommy "corn" Eckhart's 15 defensive frags. Their attacking side, however, could not keep up the pace.
The match was ultimately an unforgiving introduction to Tier 1.
