Snax wants to be tested by the best teams in the world

Snax: "I would rather play against FURIA and Vitality than other teams"

Snax led GamerLegion back into tier-one in 2026.

Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore of Dust2.us had the opportunity to speak with GamerLegion IGL Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski at BLAST Rivals 2026 Season 1 Media Day in Fort Worth, Texas.

Snax offered up comments on GamerLegion's VRS journey in 2026, their preparation for their first S-tier event since February, and his eagerness to play the top teams in the world.

Welcome to Texas. The last time we saw you was at FRAG Miami at the start of the year. Since then, you've had a busy schedule in Europe, playing a lot of smaller events. Do you think those smaller events have been good prep to come back to the S-tier circuit?

It's always a good warm-up and to find out how you feel as a team in those tournaments. Obviously, they are a little bit different than tier-one because there are different teams and you prepare for those differently.

It was more to get some [VRS] points because when I came to the team, they were a little bit out of the VRS system. So, we needed to grind some of those to get back to tier one. I think we did a good job because we are here right now.

Fortunately, that all came together in the end, and you were able to make it into the Cologne Major. So, now you have two S-tier events to get ready for the Major.

Heading into BLAST Rivals, how are you feeling about your guys' chances to use this as an opportunity to prepare for the Major and to potentially make a playoff berth?

I would say it's more like a test for us, for sure. It's been a long time since we played a tier-one tournament. Now, it's going to be a good test for us to understand where we need to work more. I'm looking forward to it, I think we've played ok and the mood is nice.

But I've had other times in the past where we've said we had a good bootcamp, and then it didn't go well. So, we'll see.

You did mention falling out of Krakow in the play-in stage, losing to Astralis. Since then, what have been the team's priorities and things you've been working on to get ready for this upcoming matchup against FURIA?

Krakow was a little bit shaky; it was the start of our journey together as a team. Especially when even in Miami, we weren't with PR because he couldn't make it. It was just the beginning; now I feel like we are more mature as a team and have more stuff in the game. I feel like it's going to be that we are more prepared than in Krakow.

Yeah, that was definitely hard in Miami, not having your full roster for your first event of the year. I think you guys made the best of it, and it was good for your new coach imd to get used to the team in a less stressful environment.

How's it been working with him in the last four months after he took over for Ash? Obviously, you joined in December so you've only really worked with him on this GamerLegion team.

I worked with imd before in GamerLegion, because he came before I went to G2, so I know the guy, and I was working with him in some other Polish teams, as well.

I think he's doing a good job. He's really into CS, and he likes to work a lot, so that's the most you want from your coach: to show that he has energy to do it. I think he's a really good guy, and he's great at what he's doing, and he's enjoying the place he's in now.

You're going to be taking on FURIA in your opener. Looking towards that match with this event being GSL, there's not a lot of room for error compared to some of the PGL events where we have Swiss. With that having such high-stakes, how are you feeling about the match against FURIA?

For me, it is the same as it was in the last BLAST tournament, where we played against Vitality in the first match. I was looking forward to it because I like to play against better teams. Especially when they are around the top three.

I would rather play against FURIA and Vitality than other teams. It's always great to see where we are standing. I think it's going to be nice. I'm happy to play against them.

GamerLegion take on FURIA tomorrow in their BLAST Rivals Group B opener at 06:30PM.
