mhL was in fine form for Wildcard

Wildcard sweep Fisher College to win FRAG 20

Wildcard bested Passion UA in the semis on their way to the title.

Wildcard emerged as the winners of FRAG 20 after taking down upstarts Fisher College in the final.

The eventual tournament winners swept their group, which included a win v. Voca, and then eliminated Chicken Coop and Passion UA on their way to the victorious final match.

Wildcard were led by Polish AWPer Miłosz "mhL" Knasiak, who posted a 1.40 rating in 12 maps played at FRAG 20, which was good enough for second-best of all players at the event.

Fisher College had an impressive run to the final. They swept NuTorious and Passion UA in Group C to move to the playoffs. In the knockout stage, they squeaked past LAG before beating Marsborne 2-0 to secure a berth in the final.

Some of the biggest sides in NA will walk away from the Las Vegas event underwhelmed. NRG placed 5th-8th after falling to Passion UA in the quarterfinals, a matchup made possible only because Passion slipped up in their group stage matches.

M80 were able to do no better than top-8, also, as they waltzed through Group A but were reverse-swept by Marsborne in their quarterfinal matchup.

The final began on Fisher College's pick of Nuke. The collegiate team began with four of the first five rounds on the T side. Wildcard answered back to close the first half with a 7-5 lead. Fisher would have wanted to capitalize on the advantageous CT side, but it was Wildcard who took the initiative in their attacking half. Wildcard surrendered just two rounds in the second period to win the map 13-7 and take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Wildcard's first pick of Mirage was next. It was a back-and-forth first half, ultimately ending with Wildcard taking another slight 7-5 edge into the halftime break. It was another strong finish for Wildcard on the second map, as they gave up three rounds this time to win 13-8.

The third map, and Fisher's final chance in the series, was Inferno. They started with a 2-0 lead after the pistol and conversion, but that was the last time they would hold the advantage in the map. Wildcard ran away with the map, winning nine of ten rounds to take a commanding 9-3 lead at the half. They would close out the tournament with ease, dropping a single round in the second half to close the map 13-4.

mhL and Nemanja "nEMANHA" Đukić were firing on all cylinders in the final, as they logged 50 and 54 frags apiece to propel Wildcard to the 3-0 sweep.
