Cache could be coming to CS2 in the near future

Liquid face off with FUT in showmatch on Cache

The map was removed from the Active Duty pool seven years ago.

Liquid have announced that they will take on FUT in the "T1 matchup on Cache" in seven years, since the map's removal from the Active Duty map pool.

Cache was removed from CS:GO's Active Duty map pool on March 28th, 2019, following the IEM Katowice 2019 Major and before the StarLadder Berlin 2019 Major. The map was replaced by Vertigo in the competitive pool.

Shortly after, Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling reworked the map and unveiled the new version during the ESL One New York 2019 showmatch in September, though it never made it into the Active Duty map pool.

Cache has been rumored to return to CS2 after FMPONE sold the map's rights to Vavle in May 2025. Valve has since dropped further hints to the map's re-introduction into the map pool, including changing the company's X header to what appears to be a screenshot of the map.

The Liquid v. FUT showmatch will be released at 03:00PM.
