Hours after a rough loss to Akimbo, InControl ended their run in ESL Challenger League S51 Cup 3 with a 2-1 victory over F5. Despite getting rocked by them earlier in the tournament, the Ice Legion turned up in the final to claim the $8,000 first-place prize.
Along with the money, they also receive a spot in the S51 NA Finals, where they will have the opportunity to qualify for ESL Pro League S24.

F5 took a solid 4-0 lead early before InControl took control for the rest of the half, putting F5 down 5-7. F5 won the second pistol and conversion, but again InControl got a streak back. Unlike the first half, F5 broke their streak early and were able to win just enough to steal their opponent's pick, 13-11.
F5 picked Overpass, on which they had a four-map win streak going into the final. InControl started slow again, but recovered to take a slight 7-5 lead. After finally winning a pistol, InControl had a great early T-side to take map point 12-5. F5 got three, but InControl closed it out 13-8, forcing a decider.
On Nuke, InControl finally got a strong start to a map. On their T-side, they went up 9-1 before dropping the final two rounds. Though F5 won a few rounds after losing the second pistol, InControl quickly hit back to take the map 13-6.
Justin "jsfeltner" Feltner was a monster on Nuke and throughout the whole final. Over the series, he went 64/44 with 18 multikill rounds and over 100 ADR.
