ESL Challenger League S51 Cup 3 Day 1 recap: InControl and F5 start strong
Last night was the first day of matches for the ESL Challenger League S51 Cup 2. Eight games were scheduled, but three teams forfeited due to roster issues and event conflicts. Among the five games that were played, F5 and InControl took home early wins over FarmVille and Shimmer, respectively.
InControl 2-0 Shimmer
The series began on Shimmer's pick of Inferno, but InControl were in control throughout the first half. They took an 8-0 start, and ended their CT-side with a 10-2 lead. Shimmer had a solid CT-side of their own to close the gap, but InControl still won 13-8.
InControl picked Nuke, and it started much like the first map. On the T-side of Nuke, InControl had a 9-0 start before ending the half with another 10-2 lead. Shimmer again started the next half strong, but miraculously came all the way back to push the game to overtime. Though they took the first round, Shimmer couldn't keep it together as InControl won 16-13, ending the series.

F5 2-0 FarmVille
The match began on FarmVille's pick of Mirage. Though they started down 0-4, F5 won eight rounds in a row to take a solid lead going into the next half. They lost the pistol again, but F5 still had a great T-site to take their opponent's pick 13-7.
F5 chose to play Overpass and started up 4-0. FarmVille had a six-round streak before F5 took two more to tie the game 6-6. FarmVille had a strong start to the half, putting F5 down 7-11. However, F5 came back to force overtime. The game went back and forth, but in the end, F5 closed it out 19-17.
