Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 Day 2 recap: Akimbo upset BOSS in opening round
Three matches made up the second day of Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7, powered by INUI.
Akimbo earned a big win v. BOSS, while regain defeated girl kissers and Aether beat InControl.
Akimbo 2-1 
BOSS
BOSS picked Inferno, and it was easy to see why. The Americans had a flawless first half, taking a 12-0 lead thanks to Brendan "Bwills" Williams, who posted a 14-7 scoreline. BOSS completed the perfect game, winning 13-0 on the first map.
Akimbo chose Mirage, but it was BOSS who established control early, going 6-2 up early. Akimbo reduced the gap to 7-5 at the end of the half to put themselves within striking distance. And strike they would, as Akimbo bounced back from the rough first map to win eight of ten rounds in the second half to take the map 13-9 and force a third.
The third and final map was a back-and-forth affair in the first half. Neither side could create separation and the scores were tied at 6-6 at halftime. Akimbo would take a page from BOSS' book in the second half, as they were flawless in the T side to win the map and match 13-6, despite losing 13-0 in the first map.
Maks "laxiee" Andryei was the best player on the server, posting a match-high 52 frags with a 1.39 rating.

Aether 2-1 InControl
Aether were hot to go on their map pick, Anubis, taking seven of the first eight rounds. InControl stabilized, taking three more rounds to reduce their opponents' lead to 8-4 at halftime. They kept that momentum up in the second half, eventually taking the lead at 12-11. Aether recovered to force overtime, but InControl would come out with the win to steal Aether's pick, 16-14.
Aether had another strong first half, this time on InControl's Mirage choice. Aether started with four from five, and held that lead until halftime, where they led 8-4 once again. InControl took three rounds to Aether's two to begin the second half, but the latter closed the game with certainty, winning 13-7 and stealing Mirage.
Nuke was the decider and it was InControl who took the reins at the start this time, winning five rounds in a row to take the early edge on the T side. Aether rebounded with five of their own, leading to both sides being tied at halftime. InControl regained the lead at 11-9, but Aether closed strong again, winning the map 13-11 and the series 2-1.
Jason "s3rum" Zheng and Andrew "Andrew" Burrell topped the frag charts, with 59 apiece, while Sebastian "Seb" Dietrich had 53 kills and a match-high 1.23 rating for Aether.
