CS2 community reacts to Valve's ammo/reload update
In the latest Guns, Guides, and Games update to CS2, Valve has significantly changed how reloading and ammo management work in their FPS. When reloading weapons with magazine-based ammunition, the bullets that were left over in the magazine no longer go back into your ammo reserve. Instead, now your reserve ammunition pool is magazine-based rather than bullet-based.
The CS community has responded positively to the update, with some noting that smoke-spamming will be more tactical after the change.
Dust2.us' editor in chief, Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore, is pointing out that the ammo system has gone mostly unchanged for more than a quarter of a century.
Analyst Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg is a fan of the change, saying that good strats can be stopped before they start because of random smoke kills.
Elliott "aizyesque" Griffiths echoed Mauisnake's sentiment, saying that one or two rounds decided by smoke or wall spams has too great of an impact on an MR12 game v. CS:GO's MR15 format
Milan "Striker" Švejda of HLTV took a different angle, emphasizing his concerns about the potential ill effects on the AWP.
