Chicken Coop sign Brazilian former ESL Impact coach darkpsy

Late last night Chicken Coop announced the surprise signing of Brazilian coach Igor "darkpsy" Zaniboni, seeing the former ESL Impact coach link up with his first English-speaking team. darkpsy joins Chicken Coop as a direct replacement for Brandon "R4NDO" Smith after the team's long-time coach stepped down from the team due to family and work commitments.

darkpsy's coaching resume dates back to 2022 when he was signed to Black Dragons' ESL Impact squad, notably attending the first ESL Impact League Finals in Dallas with the team. He continued to work with the team as they jumped to B4, Fluxo, and then MIBR over the next three years as the team consistently qualified to the ESL Impact League Finals until he was cut from MIBR Female in mid 2025.

From there, darkpsy joined orgless Brazilian stack FOLHA AMARELA which has included familiar names including Arthur "f4stzin" Schmitt and Cristopher "ckzao" Chalus.

Regarding the unorthodox signing, Jared "jared" Habib told Dust2.us that the team found darkpsy after reaching out to numerous coaches and agents and that his experience and view of the game were key factors in the signing.

darkpsy has a difficult task ahead of him as Chicken Coop have had a poor start to the year, with the team tumbling to 215th on the VRS and falling out of invite contention for a number of upcoming events.
