3DMAX's problems in the server are accompanied by financial stresses outside of it

3DMAX allegedly scammed out of $1 million by former partner

The owner and new GM are covering missing pay for players.

In an interview with lasource.gg, new GM of 3DMAX Stéphane Pons has claimed that the org was scammed out of $1 million by a former partner.

Shortly before my arrival, we were the victims of a scam by a former partner of the organization... we are talking about the team's entire revenue, including stickers, which 'disappeared.'

Sticker money earned from participation in Valve-backed major tournaments is a huge boon for smaller orgs. Losing that revenue could mean going out of business for teams that rely on sticker money to stay afloat. Valve splits the revenue from sticker capsule sales 50/50 with the teams that participate in the Major, which translates into a big payday for the 32 participating teams.

Upon Pons' arrival at the organization, he identified the abnormal transactions and froze the affected accounts to prevent further financial damage. Pons also stated that the organization is taking legal action, but that he and the 3DMAX owner are committed to "covering 100% of this missing sum for the players."

3DMAX haven't had the best results in the server lately, prompting the French side to remove Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro and replace him with Kévin "misutaaa' Rabier.

In the coaching department, head coach Pierre "YouKnow" Marco has been relieved of his duties in favor of Damien "wasiNk" Dufour. French CS legend and two-time Major winner Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt has also joined 3DMAX as an assistant coach.
