Lake's future is international

Lake shares career aspirations outside of NA: "I want to go to Europe"

All roads lead to EU.

In an interview for HLTV Prospects Season 2, former Season 1 prospect Mason "Lake" Sanderson explained his desire to compete for a European team, saying, " I don't want to be in NA my entire career. I want to go to Europe, I want to play the best teams all the time."

Lake has somewhat become the poster boy for NA CS, representing the region in two majors since he joined M80 in 2024. Lake says that making majors used to be his goal, but having achieved that twice, his new goal is to "play the best CS I can, and NA right now is just a bit brutal."

Earlier this year, rumors surfaced that G2 were interested in acquiring Lake to replace Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa, whose spot Lake had originally filled when he joined M80. However, M80 CEO Marco Mereu has called these leaks "Fake news."

Until he inevitably joins a European team, Lake says, "I still love the boys at M80, and I'm happy to stay with them for the rest of my time."
